Everything's bigger in Texas

Minding my own business, I casually go to check the mail. I'm thinking peaceful thoughts about the beauty of our world and respecting all of the Lord's creations, when I almost walk directly into THIS! It's as big as my face, and suspended on my porch. The boys of my household (big and little) were fascinated. Especially by the bug wrapped and ready for take out. I love nature- I really do. But I have my limits!

I don't even know what to say...I hope at that point you packed your bags and moved in with your mother. I don't do bugs bigger than my hand.

Nasty - I probably would have run away crying. Poor Bo would have had to kill it! I think it is great how little boys love this kind of stuff!

I am so terrified when I see something like that at my house that even though all I want to do is run away--I am compelled to watch it die immediately--therein lies my comfort, knowing it cannot "get" me. Spiders turn me evil, but only for a minute. I am so sorry you had to encounter such a monster.

Crazy thing is- I did nothing. Except take pictures and get my brood to watch it eat it's dinner. I should have screamed or swatted or moved- instead I got a stool so that I could get a better angle. Does that make me less of a woman or just more of a nerd? Abby- you could never be evil when you are protecting home and herth

I never saw a spider that big in Texas, but I did see a dead coral snake on the road near the woods just west of your parents house. I actually stopped at your mom's house to confirm if it was a coral or a king snake and you mother taught me the rhyme.

In Australia I once found a spider that big in my laundry room. His only slightly smaller younger brother joined me in the shower a month or two later. Can you say Aracnaphobia?

Lexie Lexie,

Aunt Verlinda has three extra bedrooms, a playroom in the basement, and hummingbirds all over my back hummingbird bush. It is in the low 50's at night, 70's during the day. You are welcome to come, but I would have already moved! You are something. Great things come in small packages.

Love

We are already there. (or would be if it wasn't for that whole supporting ourselves thing) Nice to know there's a place for me- with hummingbirds- yeah!
